Habitat for Humanity Project

Fall Missions - Wake County Habitat Baptist Coalition Build

This fall MBC is participating with eight other churches to build a house for a local family.

Construction began September 27th with the “blitz build weekend.”  There are opportunities for volunteers to help construct, frame, roof, paint, landscape, clean, provide food and snacks, etc. Training and safety instruction will be provided at the beginning of each shift.  Volunteers must be 16 years or older, but there are many opportunities for children and families.

The next opportunity for volunteers comes a couple of weeks after the blitz is completed.  Volunteers will be needed on Wednesday (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) Fridays (a.m. and p.m. shifts) and Saturdays (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) for painting, putting in cabinets and fixtures, cleaning and landscape.

NOTES:  What to bring:  tools are provided; good work shoes, boots and sturdy sneakers are best, no open-toed shoes, sandals, flip flops or thin canvassed sneakers.  If you bring work gloves, hammers, tape measure, tool belts, etc., please label.  Portable toilets on site.  Volunteer parking is at Christ Covenant Church and we will carpool to the site.  Registration and volunteer sign-in will be required along with safety orientation before work begins.  No experience required!

Please remember your labels for the children at Crossnore.  You can send the entire label, but the UPC code is really all that is needed.  You will find the "Campbell's" cans in the Fellowship Hall and upstairs in the Covenant Classroom.  Thanks!
