August Mission

Clothing Children with Dignity and Love

www.noteinthepocket.org
Note in the Pocket is an organization that provides clothing to impoverished and homeless children in Wake County. Their belief is that it is unacceptable for children in our community to be limited in their educational and social development because they do not have appropriate clothes for school. Through our partnerships with schools, agencies, individuals, businesses and foundations, we clothe children with dignity and love.
How We Can Help Note in the Pocket Clothe Children
  • From August 1st through August 31st, collect gently used or new clothing, shoes, sweaters, coats and jackets for infants, toddlers, school age children and teens:
    • Sizes range from 0; toddler; children S, M, L to adult S, M. and L
    • New underwear and socks for children and teens
    • Teenage and girls undergarments
    • Children’s tennis shoes (good shape or new preferred)
  • Collection point:  Lydia Classroom
As you catch back to school sales and/or clean out closets, please remember to donate to the clothing drive for Note in the Pocket! Millbrook Elementary School participates with this organization and greatly appreciates donations made by members of Millbrook Baptist Church.

Missions & Ministries
Millbrook supports a wide variety of missions in both the local community and in the wider world. This is through direct involvement and/or through our financial support. Below is a partial list of our activities.

Ministries to Alleviate Homelessness

Habitat for Humanity of Wake County www.habitatwake.org
 – We are collecting clean aluminum drink cans for recycling to benefit Habitat for Humanity.
Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network www.wihn.org
Campbell Soup Labels for The Crossnore school
 – Campbell Soup Labels are collected for The Crossnore School. Founded in 1913, The Crossnore School is a private, non-profit, children’s home and school in the western North Carolina mountains, serving children who, for circumstances beyond their control, can no longer live at home, whether permanently or temporarily. Most residents live at Crossnore because their primary care givers are abusive or have neglected them to the point that their well being is being threatened. Residents come from all counties in North Carolina.
