3rd Annual Blessing of the Animals
4:30 PM Sunday, September 21st
“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. Oh, God, enlarge within us the sense of fellowship with all living things; with our brothers the animals to whom Thou gavest the earth as their home in common with us...May we realize that they live not for us alone, but for themselves, and for Thee, and that they love the sweetness of life even as we and serve Thee in their place better than we in ours.” St. Basil the Great (330-379).
The Labyrinth Committee cordially invites you and your animal companions to attend the 3rd Annual Blessing of the Animals to be held on the grassy area in back of the church on Sunday, September 21st, at 4:30 PM, with a rain date of September 28th.
Following a brief service, animals will be blessed individually. Animals must be on a leash/lead or otherwise restrained, have vaccinations required by law, and have no communicable diseases. There will also be a Blessing of Memories for those who wish to remember a beloved companion no longer with them.
Following the Blessing, we will collect donations for the Wake County Animal Center. The Center will appreciate donations of money; food; toys; bedding; and cleaning supplies, especially paper towels.http://www.millbrookbaptistchurch.org/LabyrinthSacredGarden/tabid/104/ctl/Edit/mid/2742/Default.aspx
